A PAL is not assigned to a chapter but joins a group of members who work solo in their own communities or simply enjoy the benefits of a Wild Ones membership. Roots for Rivers Site Adoption Event
Hosted by Wild Ones Charlotte Piedmont ChapterVolunteers Needed Public Welcome Registration Required Free Event Habitat Installation/Maintenance Free Public Parking Lots of Physical Activity
Join us for the inaugural maintenance event of Wild Ones Charlotte Piedmont's recently adopted site! We'll be working with the Roots for Rivers program to care for a plot of over 200 trees, and we can't wait to watch it grow together.
The Roots for Rivers Program is an environmental initiative by Charlotte Stormwater Services as part of their Creek Relief program. Native trees are planted in select areas around the city to reforest riparian zones, stabilize riverbanks, and improve water quality. Then, volunteers like you step in to keep these trees growing healthy and strong!
This event will include instruction from Roots for Rivers personnel on how to maintain the site, and some light refreshments will be provided (under our tents to escape the sun!)
Advance registration is required to participate so Roots for Rivers may provide volunteers with the appropriate number of tools: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/roots-for-rivers-site-adoption-event-tickets-1990722049238?aff=oddtdtcreator
Forgot to register? You may not be able to take part in the maintenance, but we'd still love for you to come out, say hello, and see what we're up to!
*Please note, public restrooms are not available on site but are a short drive away by car. This is a free event and public parking will be available.

Want to introduce more native plants to your landscape, but unsure where to start? Well, this presentation is for you!
Please join Charlotte Piedmont Wild Ones and Habitat Builders at Marvin Village Hall for an educational presentation by Kristyna Culp; Habitat Builders Director, Union County Extension Master Gardener Volunteer, conservationist, and plant enthusiast! She'll walk us through some of her top recommendations for native plants that are hardy, easy to care for, readily available, and will attract pollinators to your yard. You may even get to leave with a brand new plant or some seeds!
