The Chapter Liaison serves as the primary point of contact between Wild Ones national office and local chapters. This role supports chapter leaders by providing guidance, training, resources, and operational assistance to help chapters function effectively, remain compliant, and deliver mission aligned programs within their communities. Reporting to the Member & Chapter Services Director, the Chapter Liaison works closely with volunteers, staff, and committees to strengthen chapter health, leadership capacity, and member engagement across the national network.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Fundamental Responsibilities
Chapter Support & Relationship Management
Serves as the primary contact for assigned chapter officers, providing guidance and support related to chapter operations, governance, and day‑to‑day needs. The Chapter Liaison builds strong, trusting relationships with chapter leaders and responds to inquiries in a timely, supportive, and solution‑oriented manner. They help chapters navigate policies, procedures, and best practices while reinforcing alignment with Wild Ones mission and values.
Chapter Operations & Compliance
Supports chapters in maintaining compliance with organizational bylaws, policies, guidelines, and chapter operations & resources. The Chapter Liaison assists with chapter reporting requirements, documentation, and recordkeeping, and helps identify and address potential compliance or operational concerns. They support chapter launches, chartering, and de‑chartering processes in coordination with the Chapter & Member Services Director.
Training & Leadership Development
Supports the development, facilitation, and maintenance of chapter officer training programs, including live virtual trainings, recorded sessions, and e‑learning resources. The Chapter Liaison helps ensure chapter leaders have access to clear, relevant training materials that strengthen leadership effectiveness and operational consistency across the organization.
Communications & Resource Management
Assists with assembling content for chapter officer newsletters and other chapter‑focused communications. The Chapter Liaison helps maintain chapter documentation, templates, and resources within the online Chapter Operations & Resources and ensures materials remain current, accessible, and aligned with organizational standards.
Chapter Engagement & Recognition
Supports chapter engagement initiatives that strengthen connection, visibility, and shared learning across the network, including annual reporting, recognition programs, and anniversary acknowledgments. Works with the Chapter Advisory Committee (CAC), ensuring a consistent avenue for chapter feedback to inform national decision-making. Fosters networking and peer-to-peer connection among chapters through opportunities for collaboration and knowledge-sharing across regions and chapter sizes, while advocating for chapters by elevating their perspectives, assessing the impact of organizational policies and processes, and communicating insights to fellow staff. Maintains ongoing awareness of chapter activity and engagement trends to strengthen support strategies and alignment with organizational goals.
Chapter Lifecycle Support
Develops and implements a structured, proactive approach to supporting chapters across all stages of the lifecycle—from initial inquiry and seedling development through chartering, growth, and long-term sustainability. The Chapter Liaison ensures consistent, relationship-based support that strengthens leadership capacity, reduces barriers to success, and fosters healthy chapter development.
Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Tracks and reports chapter statistics and metrics to support organizational planning and decision‑making. The Chapter Liaison identifies trends, recurring challenges, and opportunities for improvement related to chapter operations, membership engagement, and leadership development, and shares insights with the Chapter & Member Services Director.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- The ideal candidate holds bachelor’s degree in business management, nonprofit administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Three to five years of experience supporting membership organizations, chapters, affiliates, or volunteer‑led programs, preferably within a nonprofit setting.
- Experience working across multiple locations or with distributed teams or volunteer leaders.
- Experience developing or supporting training programs is preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Wild Ones and environmental stewardship.

- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, including coaching, mentoring, conflict resolution, and cross-functional collaboration.

- Ability to work on a consistent schedule during standard business hours, with flexibility for evening availability, and occasional weekend work to support in-person and virtual events, meetings, deadlines, and organizational launches.
- Ability to perform occasional physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and engaging in activities such as bending, squatting, kneeling, and twisting as needed for in-person work or event-related support.
