We are excited to announce an expanded partnership with Wildr to encourage people to replace turf grass with native plants that restore biodiversity, support pollinators, and strengthen local ecosystems. Together, we are combining innovation, education, and community effort to grow the movement for native landscaping.
This partnership combines our unique strengths to make native landscaping more accessible and practical. Wildr inspires action through engaging, data-driven tools that guide people in transforming their lawns into thriving habitats. The Less Lawn More Life Challenge inspires participation, while the Wildr Score helps users measure the ecological impact of their efforts.
Less Lawn More Life Challenge
Earlier this year, we collaborated to host two webinars as part of the Less Lawn More Life Challenge, reaching nearly 10,000 people with practical tips on how to plant your native garden presented by Board President Loris Damerow, and the importance of finding your community presented by Chapter Liaison Lisa Olsen.
We are excited to continue supporting the Less Lawn More Life Challenge. If you’re feeling inspired, good news: it’s now available year-round, and you can join anytime!
A key feature enabled by this partnership is the launch of the Ask the Experts tool powered by Wild Ones. More than 50 experienced Wild Ones volunteers from across the country are ready to answer questions from participants in the Less Lawn More Life Challenge. These volunteers bring years of practical experience and are helping gardeners and homeowners confidently incorporate native plants into their landscapes.
Selected questions and expert answers will appear in the monthly Less Lawn More Life newsletter, offering participants both personalized guidance and shared learning opportunities.

Wildr Score
The Wildr Score is a simple, accessible tool developed to help participants measure the ecological impact of their landscaping choices. By tracking progress, participants can see the positive difference they’re making for wildlife, pollinators, and climate resilience.
Already featured in the New York Times, the Wildr score is gaining well-deserved attention, and we are excited to support and contribute to the continued development of this valuable resource.
A Partnership Rooted in Growth
This collaboration creates a powerful feedback loop: Wildr provides participants with user-friendly tools like the Less Lawn More Life Challenge and the Wildr Score to inspire and measure change, while Wild Ones amplifies the effort by sharing trusted expertise from its nationwide network of members. Together, we are equipping people with both the practical know-how and the motivation to transform their landscapes into thriving native habitats.
Together, Wildr and Wild Ones unite innovation and community to help more people grow landscapes that support life.
