Wild Ones Board Seeking Nominations for 2023-2026 Director Term!

Posted & filed under National News.

Wild Ones is currently recruiting (June 11th – July 9th) for seven openings on our board of directors! You are invited to reach out to anyone you think might be interested and encourage them to consider this opportunity. The election will be held this fall and new directors will begin their four-year terms next January.

It’s an exciting time to join the board! Wild Ones is staffed with a stellar team and our membership is growing like never before! Five of our current board members, whose terms are expiring, are running again, so our national leadership is strong.

We are looking for individuals with a wide range of skills and backgrounds. Native plant knowledge is a great asset to this role, however, strong organizational and leadership skills, as well as passion for our environmental mission are valued highly as well.

Please consider yourself, Wild Ones members you know, or anyone you’ve worked alongside of in other organizations who might be good candidates. Interested persons are welcome to view our prospectus outlining the responsibilities of a director as well as other relevant documents below.

After reviewing the prospectus, if serving on the board is of interest, please fill out or share the link to the “Wild Ones Board of Directors 2022 Nomination Form” below.

Candidates must be active Wild Ones members in good standing.

When the nomination period closes, the Wild Ones Nomination Committee will review and select candidates to be interviewed in July and/or August. The committee will then put forward their slate of candidates to the board of directors for their approval at the August 22nd board meeting. Selected candidates will be published online in early September and Wild Ones members will be able to cast their votes for the seven open positions through September 27th. New directors will be announced online and in the Wild Ones Journal in December 2022.

For questions, please email Nominations Chair, Loris Damerow.

Thank you for contributing to our critical mission and the future of our organization by considering who you know that can help Wild Ones save the planet, one yard at a time!
