About:
I am a kindergarten teacher who has created and maintains an outdoor classroom and restored native prairie. I also teach teachers through a few adjunct instructor positions and am the author of TEACHING OFF TRAIL. I love volunteering for missions near and dear to my heart, including Special Olympics Wisconsin, Children's Wisconsin, the Ice Age Trail Alliance, and the International Play Association. In my free time, I enjoy working on restoring the wetland, woodland, and upland prairie of my family's twenty-acre hobby farm or hiking on the Ice Age Trail with my wife and three children.
What inspired you to become involved with Wild Ones:
I initially joined because I fell in love with prairies on my hiking adventures. Once a member, I started taking that passion and turning it into practice. When I see the power of restoration in action, especially through the eyes of children, I am immensely inspired to share that power with others. I feel we can do so much more to create opportunities for children and families to learn about native plants and why they are so crucial to our world. I look forward to connecting our organization to schools and youth organizations to support stewardship opportunities for the next generations.
