Join WOGC for a lake hike to admire the beauty of our region in fall!
Here are Wild Ones Greater Cleveland, we're more than aware of the amazing resources we have in Cleveland. Our region gets all four seasons and we are so fortunate to live in our temperate climate that allows us to have it all when it comes to our seasonal changes. As cooler temperature have come on, we're appreciating the impressive fall color display we get to experience each fall. What's more, we are right on Lake Erie! If you love native plants, our great lake, ecological restoration, and hiking with other native plant lovers, you'll absolutely love this hike!
This is at the Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve. It can be tricky to find the entrance to the trail, which is behind the building you'll see. Walk around the building to the left and look for the turnstile that marks the gated entrance. You'll also see some signage. If you're running late or lost, be sure to text Diab so he knows!

Wild Ones Greater Cleveland and LCCC Specialty Gardens is teaming up to provide you this FREE educational hands-on workshop about native plants and seed collection!
Come and collect seeds for your garden or donate the seeds to collect to Wild Ones Greater Cleveland for future community activities and projects!
Logistics:
-Bring paper bags or small envelopes to collect seeds and dress for some off trail walking.
-Wear appropriate shoes/boots as it can get muddy, and wear clothes in preparation for some potential off-trail walking.

This hands-on event is for beginner and experienced seed cleaners. Wild Ones member Lauren Clark will lead a session demonstrating how to clean native seeds in preparation for our annual Seed Swap (scheduled for January 9, 2027). If you are new to seed cleaning, you'll learn seed cleaning techniques from more experienced chapter members.
Feel free to bring your own native seed to learn how to clean it. Please, native seeds only! Remember to label them in advance with the common name and botanical / latin name.
Note: non-native seeds won't be permitted to prevent possible contamination with native seeds. Seeds will be registered upon entry.

Join fellow native plant lovers for a native seed cleaning and packing social.
We'll spend a few hours processing and packaging locally collected native seed, helping make these important plants more accessible to our community while preparing for future restoration and gardening efforts.
